Patriots to honor military with special night

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., January 19 - The Fayetteville Patriots and Flow Mazda will offer a community salute to the Armed Services as the Patriots host the Roanoke Dazzle at the Crown Coliseum this Saturday night, Jan. 21. In addition to a number of exhibits and special guests, the Patriots will admit free of charge any active duty service member who wears his or her uniform to the game. And anyone with a military I.D. can purchase two tickets for the price of one.

Flow Mazda Military Appreciation Night will feature a variety of military static displays, performances by the U.S. Army Band, high-ranking military officials as celebrity coaches and free t-shirts to the first thousand fans through the doors.

SAAB Barracuda has provided free tickets for over 1,000 fans through the MWR offices on Fort Bragg and Seattle Sonics mascot, "Squatch," will perform at halftime and throughout the game. "This is just our way of saying 'Thanks' to all the military men and women in our community," said Patriots president Todd DeMoss. "We know that they and their families make a lot sacrifices for the country and we want them to know we appreciate them.?"

The D-League offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Thirty-four (34) players have been called up to the NBA on 50 separate occasions. Ten (10) former D-League coaches, five athletic trainers, 11 referees and 30 front office executives have also been called up since the start of the league's inaugural season in November of 2001.

Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the leaguealso offers fun, family entertainment at affordable prices. The D-League is a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 30 teams and is a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
