Patriots Team with Maine Red Claws to Host "Patriots Night" December 8

PORTLAND, Maine (December 6, 2012) -Patriots fans are invited to attend a special "Patriots Night," at the upcoming Maine Red Claws vs. Ft. Worth Mad Ants basketball game on December 8 in Portland, ME. The game will feature autographs and in-game promotional contents with a special focus on the 2,000 Patriots Maine license plate preorders necessary to bring the Patriots license plate program to the state of Maine.
Fans can place a preorder for a plate at the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation table in the arena for a chance to participate in a halftime contest to win authentic autographed Patriots memorabilia and a grand prize of two tickets to the upcoming Patriots vs. 49ers game on Dec. 16. In addition, former Patriots fullback PATRICK PASS, a three-time Super Bowl champion, will sign autographs at the Foundation table prior to the game. In addition, Patriots mascot PAT PATRIOT will be on hand throughout the evening and will join Red Claw mascot, Crusher, to participate in in-game activities and contests. Fans are also encouraged to wear Patriots attire to the game.
"My family and the Patriots organization knows Maine is home to some of the best Patriots fans in the world," said Patriots Charitable Foundation President Joshua Kraft. "This Saturday, while celebrating with Maine Patriots fans and our friends at the Red Claws, we hope to close the gap on the 2,000 preorders we need to bring this license plate program, which benefits Maine nonprofits, to the great state of Maine.
Maine Patriots license plates cost $35 on top of regular registration fees, with $25 going to the state for start-up costs of producing the plate, and $10 going to the Patriots Charitable Foundation, earmarked for Maine nonprofits. The Maine license plate program marks the third Patriots license plate offered in the New England region, with existing programs in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Once the plate is approved and in production, which may take up to a year, each of the 2,000 pre-sale registrants will receive a Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) voucher, which they can take to their municipal office or BMV branch to redeem for their plate. Vehicles must be under 10,000 pounds to be eligible.
