
Patriots sign outfielder Tyrone Pendergrass

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball have announced the signing of outfielder Tyrone Pendergrass.
Pendergrass has experience in the Atlanta Braves organization, including a season at the Triple-A level and two seasons at the Double-A level.
He has experience in Independent Baseball, having played in the Northern League and the Northeast League the past few seasons.
Pendergrass has a career .256 batting average with 1,239 hits, 120 doubles, 51 triples, 50 home runs, 300 RBI, and 316 stolen bases in 885 games played. He has been in the top three for league leaders in stolen bases six times in his career, including first two times. Pendergrass has also been among the league leaders in triples four times in his career, including first three times.
"We feel that Tyrone's speed will help make a difference for our team. He has shown throughout his career that he can use his speed to be a factor in every game. We look forward to him joining us this year," said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
