
Patriots' Rob Ninkovich Appearing at Hadlock Field on May 8th

Portland, Maine- Rob Ninkovich, a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots, is scheduled to make an appearance at Hadlock Field on Wednesday, May 8th when the Portland Sea Dogs take on the Reading Fightin Phils at 6:00 PM. Ninkovich's appearance at Hadlock Field is presented by Asylum Sports Bar and Grill.
Ninkovich will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and will be available to sign free autographs on photos provided by the Portland Sea Dogs for fans from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
Ninkovich has started every game for the Patriots over the last two seasons. In 2012, he led the Patriots with eight sacks, while recording 58 tackles (32 solo), forced five fumbles, and had four fumble recoveries. Originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 2006 NFL Draft, Ninkovich is a veteran of eight NFL seasons with the Saints, Dolphins, and Patriots. The Patriots signed Ninkovich as a free agent on August 2nd, 2009. In four seasons with the Patriots, Ninkovich has appeared in 63 regular season games with 217 tackles and 19.5 sacks. He recorded the franchise's second-longest fumble return when he returned a Chargers fumble 63 yards on October 24th, 2010. Ninkovich started in Super Bowl XLVI against the Giants in Indianapolis and recorded four tackles (three solo) and a half sack.
The Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have hosted several Patriots players at the ballpark over the last few years including Steve Grogan (2008), Rob Gronkowski (2011), and Patrick Chung (2012).
