Patriots Add Two More Pitchers, Bo Donaldson And Joe Welsh

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of right-handed pitcher Bo Donaldson and left-handed pitcher Joe Welsh.

Donaldson has four seasons of Triple-A experience with the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Anaheim Angels, Montreal Expos, and Boston Red Sox organizations.

Donaldson has a minor league career record of 30-25 with a 3.18 ERA and 656 strikeouts in 562.1 innings pitched in 338 games, mostly as a reliever.

He also has previous experience in the Atlantic League, pitching for the Camden Riversharks during the 2006 season. For Camden, Donaldson had a 2.51 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched in 18 games.

Welsh has two seasons of experience in the Washington Nationals organization. He has pitched in 41 career games and has a 3.31 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 70.2 innings pitched.

Welsh spent last season in Single-A at Hagerstown and had a 3-2 record, a 4.53 ERA, and 32 strikeouts in 30 games pitched.
