Moncton Wildcats News Release

MONCTON N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats are pleased to announce a new addition to the Business Operations Department, Patrick Pion, will officially join the team next week as Manager of Business Development.

The sports industry was always a passion for Patrick; however, he began his career in finance where he spent his first 10 years building a portfolio in advanced finance/accounting and business strategy - a CPA designation with over 10 years of senior experience in global finance. Already holding a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Ottawa, in 2010 he completed his Executive MBA at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) and is a CPA in both Canada and the U.S.A.

In 2010, Patrick made the transition from finance into the sports industry, beginning with the Montreal Alouettes in 2011. Here he held positions as Coordinator of Football Administration/Salary Cap, as well a Pro/College Scout with the franchise for four years before transitioning into hockey. His most recent position was with the Ottawa Senators as Director of Strategic Development from 2015-2018.

"I am thrilled to be joining the best CHL organization in Canada," added Patrick. "The Wildcats strive for the same things that I believe in - being the best, winning, taking care of customers and fans, being a significant part of the community and giving back."

Born and raised in Ontario, Patrick spent the early years of his career in New Brunswick. Along with his wife, who hails from Moncton, they look forward to returning out east and calling this their permanent home.

Patrick will bring a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years of advanced business experience to our team. We look forward to the opportunity of having him connect and develop relationships with our exceptional community partners and ticket members, as we look towards this second half of the 2020-2021 hockey season.
