Parrots Exhibition Game Scheduled

September 25, 2002 - Atlantic Coast Hockey League 2 (ACHL 2)
St. Pete Parrots News Release

The St. Pete Parrots of the ACHL announced today they will play an exhibition game against the Orlando Seals on October 12, 2002.

The game against the Seals will take place in Kissimmee, FL as part of both clubs pre season training camps. The time has been set for 7:00 PM and the game will take place at the Ice Factory in Kissimmee.

Parrots head coach and general manager Bruce Ramsay said both clubs would use this game to evaluate players before trimming their rosters to 16 on the next day.

"This will give me an opportunity to see what some of the question marks are going to be as we head in to the regular season," Ramsay went on to say. "We expect for a lot of guys to be battling for a spot on the roster and these game type situations are beneficial for a good overall evaluation."

Preliminary plans are underway for the Parrots to host an exhibition game in the Bayfront Arena either on the Friday preceding or the Sunday following against either Orlando or Jacksonville. Details of the game should be ironed out within the week.

The Parrots open the regular season on the road against the Macon Trax on Friday October 18th before christening the Bayfront Center arena on Saturday night October 19th at 7:30 PM when they take on the Jacksonville Barracudas.

Single game seats go on sale this Friday at all Ticketmaster locations or by calling the Parrots at 727-898-PUCK.
