Three games, Two teams, and a Parrot in a Pear Tree

St. Pete Parrots News Release

ST. PETERSBURG...The St. Pete Parrots prepare for a month packed full of home games at the Bayfront Center. The Parrots enter this week with a record of 8-8 following a win against Cape Fear Fire Antz Thursday and a loss to the Orlando Seals Friday evening.

The first action of the week comes tomorrow night at 7:30 versus the Jacksonville Barracudas. The game will be fourth match-up between the two teams with the Parrots claiming victory in only one of the previous meetings. The Barracudas return to the Bayfront on Friday for the second game of the week.

Saturday night the Parrots host the Macon Trax. This will be the second time the Trax have visited the Bayfront, but hopefully with a different outcome than the first meeting. Last Saturday Macon made the trip to St. Pete only to turn around after the first period and head home. The game was called due to unsafe ice conditions because of a malfunction with the Zamboni. Assistant Captain Rob Schweyer provided intermission entertainment as the Zamboni was being worked on making snow angels in the ice shavings and throwing snowballs at teammates. The machine has been fixed and the Parrots practiced at the Bayfront this morning. Fans attending last Saturday's game can return their ticket stub to the Bayfront Center for a refund.

The Parrots will participate in the 75th Annual Santa Parade put on by the St. Petersburg Lions Club. Players and mascot will participate in the processional distributing items along the way.
