
Great Performances Highlight Week
December 2, 2002 - Atlantic Coast Hockey League 2 (ACHL 2) News Release
Terrific individual performances were the highlights of the Thanksgiving Weekend in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League:
Cape Fear Goaltender, Geoff Derouin, won two out of three games, with his only loss coming in overtime.
Orlando Seals Defenseman, Chris LiPuma, scored two goals and went +4 on 11/30 vs. Jacksonville.
Goaltender Nathan Grobins of Jacksonville continued his hot hand stopping 33 of 34 shots on 11/29 vs. Knoxville.
Forward Joe Seroski of the Orlando Seals scored the three-goal hat trick on 11/29 vs. St. Pete.
Forward Mike Sanderson of the Jacksonville Barracudas also tallied a hat-trick on 11/28 vs. Knoxville.
And St. Pete Parrots Goaltender, Michal Lanicek, stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 2-1 victory over Cape Fear on 11/28.
ACHL Player of the Week:
Mike Sanderson of the Jacksonville Barracudas is the Atlantic Coast Hockey League Player of the Week. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native scored five goals and added an assist for six points in three games played last week. Three of the five goals came against Knoxville on 11/28.
ACHL Goaltender of the Week:
Geoff Derouin of the Cape Fear Fire Antz is the ACHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season! Derouin, from Fort St. John, British Columbia, won two games and lost a third in overtime this past week. Moreover, he stopped an outstanding 88 of 95 shots on the week for a 92.6% save percentage.
