Bay Area Panthers News Release

Monday, the Bay Area Panthers (1-3), The Bay's Indoor Football League (IFL) team, return home against the visiting Bismarck Bucks (2-2) as the Panthers look to end their 3- game slide. The Panthers won a thrilling contest in their IFL debut on March 21 before dropping their last three contests.

Players to Watch

The Bay Area Panthers feature one of the most exciting rosters in the IFL. Head Coach Kurt Bryan will continue to emphasize his innovative run scheme led by Quarterbacks Cory Murphy and Joe Newman, as well as RB Duane Gary. Newman not only leads the team in rushing, but ranks at the top of the league leaderboards as well. Coach Bryan has stuck to his preseason commitment to the run game as the Panthers rank #4 in rushing yards per contest.

The Panthers Defense is led by Bay Area standout LB Derik (DJ) Calhoun (27 TKLS), as well as DBs Marcellus Pippins (1 INT/1 PBU) and Raysean Pringle (1 INT/1 PBU).

The Bucks enter the game with the league's #2 ranked rushing attack (94.5 yds/game), led by QB Jayru Campbell. The Bucks also feature one of the leagues stingiest defenses and are #2 in the league at stopping the run. The Panthers will face a stiff test if they continue their run dominant attack.
