The Panthers have strengthened the offensive line with the signing of Jamarkus Means as a restricted free agent.

Last season, Means made the IFL All-Rookie Team playing for the Tucson Sugar Skulls, paving the way for running back Mike Jones to lead the league in rushing touchdowns.

"Bay Area is a great venue," said Means. "Getting a chance to play for Coach Arbet, Coach Dixie (Wooten) and Coach Keefe. Right there is an amazing coaching trio.

Means explained why the Panthers are the perfect fit for him at this point of his career.

"I've been watching the signings and seeing the pieces fall into place and it seemed like the right place for me," said Means. "It's going to be a real championship culture."

Means is a proud native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, the same city that produced NBA star Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans and 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel. He played his college football at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI, where he was coached by Sparky McEwen, the former head coach of the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League.
