
Panthers Acquire RW Sergei Shirokov from Vancouver

SUNRISE, FLA - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired RW Sergei Shirokov (sheer-OH-kawv) from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for LW Mike Duco.
Shirokov, 25, appeared in 76 games with the Manitoba Moose (AHL) last season, ranking first on the club in goals (22), assists (36) and points (58). He has played in eight career National Hockey League games all with Vancouver (2009-11), scoring one goal.
The Moscow, Russia native was drafted by Vancouver in the sixth round (163rd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
