Panamanian Forward Blas Pérez Starts Indoor Career with the Dallas Sidekicks

Allen, TX - Dallas Sidekicks announce that Panamanian forward, Blas Pérez, will be joining the Sidekicks for the 2022-2023 MASL season. This will be Pérez's first professional season in indoor soccer and with the Sidekicks.
Blas Pérez started his career in Panama in 1998 with Panamá Viejo where he scored 27 goals in 56 matches. Since then, Pérez has played professionally in Panama, Uruguay, Columbia, Spain, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States.
Some of the notable clubs he has played for are Pachuca, Tigres, Leon, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and FC Dallas. Pérez also has represented the Panama National Team during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, CONCACAF Gold Cup, FIFA World Cup Qualification matches, and other national team duties.
Many North Texas fans will recognize Blas Pérez from playing with FC Dallas during the 2012-2015 Major League Soccer seasons. During this time, Pérez played 97 games and scored 36 goals, and had 14 assists. He was also the leading goal-scorer for FC Dallas for three consecutive seasons. Pérez helped lead FC Dallas to the MLS playoffs in the 2014 and 2015 MLS seasons.
Blas Pérez made his Panama National Team debut in March 2001 and has over 100 caps with the national team and scored 42 goals with them. In 2007, Pérez was named on the 2007 Gold Cup "Best XI" and is one of the leading all-time goal scorers for Panama's national team.
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to bring in a well-rounded veteran player into the Sidekicks Organization. His knowledge of the game and experience will help bring the Dallas Sidekicks onto the next level in the MASL," said General Manager Jessie Vilkofsky on Pérez.
Family is everything to Blas Pérez and for every goal he scores he celebrates by doing bull horns to the sky in tribute to his late father who was nicknamed "The Bull". His family inspires him to be a better player every day and is his motivation to keep on going. Like his dad, Pérez also has a nickname, Super Raton, which translated from Spanish to English is Mighty Mouse hence why many fans call him that.
