San Rafael Pacifics News Release
VALLEJO, Calif. - The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Vallejo Admirals in game five of their six game series, 9-5, behind a stellar start from right-hander, Kyle Devore, on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Park.
Devore, 22, went 7 innings while allowing just 1 run. The former Texas Rangers prospect scattered eight hits while striking out four and walking none, en route to his fourth win of the season. In three starts against Vallejo this year, Devore (3-1) is unbeaten.
San Rafael first baseman, Johnny Woodard, launched his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning and is now tied for the team lead in that category. Woodard (3-for-5) was on base four times, scored two runs, and fell a triple short of the cycle. Darrick Hale and Zack Pace both had RBIs for the Pacifics, who also scored one of their runs on a balk by Vallejo starter, Colby Gurney (0-2). Short stop Danny Gonzales drove in two runs with his double in the seventh.
The two teams will complete their series on Sunday afternoon, with left-hander Bennett Whitmore taking the ball for San Rafael. First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 PST. Coverage can be found on pointstreak.com, by downloading the Pacifics mobile app, and following the team on Twitter (@SRPacifics).
