Potomac Nationals News Release
The Potomac Nationals are excited to host "Need for Speed Night" at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium on Saturday, May 26th, the second game of a four game series against the Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago White Sox).
Saturday, May 26th is also the second bobblehead giveaway of the 2018 season. The first 1,250 fans in attendance will take home the Trea Turner Road Runner Bobblehead, presented by Cowles Parkway Ford. The bobblehead, which depicts Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner as half-human, half-Road Runner, will honor Turner's elite speed.
On Super Saturday, Northwest Federal Field focus on all things speed in the baseball world and beyond. The ballpark will be split up into nine different sections, each named after a different car that will represent each of the nine P-Nats players in the starting lineup. The P-Nats player who steals the most bases in the game will win a free ticket to a future P-Nats game for the section that they represent, excluding July 4th.
Need for Speed Night also provides fans the chance to see one of the most unique in-game promotions of the year, where one lucky fan will have the chance to show off their speed and attempt to "steal" second base in-between innings.
Throughout the game, there will also be speed-related video board clips on display, as well as a Road Runner themed raffle for fans to try to win at fan assistance.
Prior the game, fans can enjoy a pre-game band in the Café Area. The Cadillac Romeos will perform live at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium.
After the final out of the game, fans can watch another fireworks show at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium, presented by WTOP.
Prior to the fireworks, kids will have a chance to participate in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Glory Days Grill.
First pitch between the P-Nats and the Winston-Salem Dash is at 6:35pm. Gates to the ballpark will open at 5:00pm.
