P.E.I. Rocket To Help Children's Wish Foundation

On Friday, December 9, the P.E.I. Rocket will be having a Toonie Toss to help make wishes come true. P.E.I. Rocket players Danny Stewart, Ryan Mior and Tyler Hawes along with Noémie Brunet from the Children's Wish Foundation invite everyone to come out to the Rocket game on Friday night to toss their toonies. Noémie will be on hand to drop the puck for the ceremonial face off. People in the crowd will be able to place a toonie in the Royal Bank toonie holders which will be available at the Civic Centre prior to the game and during the break after the first period. During the break after the second period, it will be announced that it is time to throw the toonie holders onto the ice. The owners of the 5 toonie holders closest to centre ice will win one of 5 prizes: an XBox, a 2004 Stanley Cup hat autographed by Martin St. Louis, 2004 NHL MVP, and PEI's own Brad Richards, 2004 Con Smyth and Lady Byng trophies winner, a Royal Bank sweatshirt, a Children's Wish Foundation hoody, and a Russ teddy bear.

The proceeds from this event will assist the Children's Wish Foundation grant one of 9 wishes they are currently working on for Island children. These children are dealing with high risk, life-threatening illnesses like childhood Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy and are between the ages of 3 and 18.
