P-Bruins Defeat St. John's IceCaps 5-4 in Overtime

ST. JOHN'S - The Providence Bruins traveled to the One Mile Centre in St. John's tonight for their first game in their back-to-back match ups this week versus the St. John's IceCaps.

The Providence Bruins came out strong in the first period. Steve Eminger netted the first goal of the night on a Power Play just 4:57 minutes into the 1st with the assists going to Alexander Khokhlachev and Jordan Caron. 18:41 into the period Rob Flick found the back of the net and scored the 2nd goal of the night for the P-Bruins making the score 2-0.

The P-Bruins went into the 2nd with a healthy lead. 9:27 into the period Alexander Khokhlachev strengthened the lead with the 2nd Power Play goal of the night for Providence, with the assists going to Cunningham and Pastrnak. Eager to the find the back of the net, the St. John's fired back with their first goal of the night from O'Dell. O'Dell's goal was followed up by another from Kosmachuck 12:53 into the period. O'Dell ended the 2nd frame of the game with his 2nd goal of the night to tie up the score 3-3.

After a high score 1st and 2nd, both teams came out eager to break the 3-3 tie in the 3rd. John Albert of the IceCaps scored just 5:06 into the period with the assists going to Kichton and Melchiori. With 2:52 left in regulation Frankie Simonelli got one past Budaj with the assists going to Kane and Pastrnak, to tie up the score 4-4.

Just 1:02 into overtime, Craig Cunningham scores on a rebound to end the game with a final score of 5-4.
