FOREST CITY- The Forest City Owls scored a season high 16 runs and shut out the Wilson Tobs on Wednesday night in Wilson.
Owl's starter Nick Neitzel went seven innings allowing just one hit and every Owl in the lineup got a hit and scored a run in the 16-0 victory.
Steven Pallares recorded four hits for the second time in the past three games and Zach Cerbo had 3 RBI's to lead the Owls offense. Danny Sheehan and Hunter Bryant also had a multi-RBI night with two each.
That was plenty of run support for Owls starter Nick Neitzel (3-3) who went seven innings allowing just one hit and struck out eight in the shutout to get his third win of the year.
Eric Birklund and Colin Hightower finished out the game striking out three and allowing one hit.
After only having three hits until the sixth inning, Devin Wenzel led off with a league leading 8th double and the Owls would get seven runs in the inning, followed by one in the seventh.
Bryant and Eric Cheray led off the 8th with singles before Zach Cerbo had a two RBI double to bring the game to 10-0. Pallares came up with a 2 RBI single to make it 12-0 before the 8th inning ended.
Forest City wasn't done yet as Hawkins recorded an RBI single and Cerbo and Maleeke Gibson got RBI doubles to make it 16-0 in the ninth.
Wilson recorded only two hits all night and the Tobs starter Christian Slazinik had an 1.12 ERA through 24 2/3 innings before tonight.
Forest City will take on Florence tomorrow night and Asheboro Friday night before returning home Saturday night to take on the HP-Thomasville Hi-Toms for the first home game of the second half of the year.
