INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL of affiliate of the NHL's defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, signed returning goaltender Shane Owen and rookie forward Terrence Wallin for the 2015-16 season, the team announced Monday. Entering his sixth professional season, Owen appeared in 17 games last year for the Fuel following a midseason trade from the Stockton Thunder, posting a 9-6-2 record with one shutout, a 2.27 goals-against average (GAA) and a .927 save percentage (S%). Wallin managed four goals and ten points in 32 NCAA games played during his senior season at UMass-Lowell in 2014-15.

"We are extremely excited to have Shane back for next season," said Fuel Head Coach and EVP of Hockey Operations Scott Hillman on Monday. "In our final 39 games last year, we posted a 25-9-5 record and Shane was a huge part of that...He works hard to better himself on a daily basis and pushes his teammates to do the same."

In 96 career ECHL games played for the Florida Everblades, South Carolina Stingrays, Utah Grizzlies, Alaska Aces, Stockton and the Fuel, the Shanty Bay, Ontario native is a combined 36-39-12 with a 3.57 GAA, a .911 S% and three shutouts. A 6'1", 182 lb., left-handed catching 25 year-old, Owen also has one AHL appearance to his credit and played in 52 games during his lone CHL campaign with the Hillman-coached Missouri Mavericks in 2013-14, posting a 35-15-1 record with a 2.58 GAA and a .917 S%. Prior to his professional career, Owen spent parts of five junior seasons with the OHL's Erie Otters and the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats from 2007 to 2011.

"I am really excited to be re-joining the Fuel," said Owen on Monday. "It was an easy decision for me...I love the city of Indianapolis, the people and the fans and I can't wait to get back on the ice with Coach Hillman and my teammates." Owen says his experience with Hillman played a major role in his decision to return to Indy. "I've played for Coach [Hillman] the past two seasons and I've learned so much from him on and off the ice," explained Owen. "I look forward to building off of last season and competing for the Kelly Cup...October can't come soon enough."

A 6'0", 181 lb. right-handed shooting forward from Yardley, Pennsylvania, Terrence Wallin joins the Fuel following a four-year collegiate career at UMass-Lowell. In 138 total appearances, Wallin contributed 16 goals and 50 points, along with 51 penalty minutes and a +26 rating. During his time with UMass-Lowell, Wallin helped the River Hawks claim the 2013 Hockey East Regular Season Championship, the 2013 and 2014 Hockey East Tournament titles, NCAA Tournament berths in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and an appearance in the 2013 Frozen Four.

"Terrence is an exciting prospect...We believe he has a skill set that will translate to a solid professional game," said Hillman. "He shows nice offensive instincts but has worked hard on his defensive game. With the style of game we play in Indy, we count on players to play the full 200 feet...We believe he has the determination and speed to get that done."

In 2015-16, the Indy Fuel drop the puck on their second season in the ECHL.
