
Evansville IceMen Sign Two New Players

Evansville, IN - The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, and Head Coach Al Sims have announced the signing of two new players to the IceMen's Pre-season Roster. Forward Tyson Fawcett and Defenseman Mike Kavanagh have agreed to contract terms for the upcoming 2015-2016 season.
Barrie, Ontario native Tyson Fawcett joins the Evansville organization after playing his ECHL rookie season with the Brampton (Ontario) Beast. A 5'6",170 lbs. forward, the 22 year-old Fawcett scored 9 goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 59 games last season in Brampton. Tyson was also the Beast's representative in the ECHL All-Star Game that was played last January in Orlando, Florida. Prior to his turning pro, Fawcett scored 75 points (35 goals & 40 assists) in 130 games for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League (Junior). The feisty centerman was dubbed a "spark plug" by his former OHL Coach and former NHL star & Hockey Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk.
Defenseman Mike Kavanagh comes to Evansville after playing in 54 games last season for the Fayetteville (North Carolina) FireAntz in the SPHL. A 27 year-old native of Little Neck, New York, Kavanagh, 6'-2", 215 lbs., scored 3 goals & 25 assists for 28 points in Fayetteville.Known as a "shut-down defender" who can also contribute on both the power-play and penalty killing units, Mike has previously played in the ECHL for both the Orlando Solar Bears and the Cincinnati Cyclones. During the 2013-14 season, he split time between the St. Charles Chill of the Central Hockey League and Fayetteville. Prior to starting his professional career, Kavanagh played three years of college hockey for SUNY-Plattsburgh before transferring to Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.
Evansville opens the 2015-2016 season on Saturday, October 17th at the Ford Center against the Indy Fuel at 7:15pm. 2015-16 IceMen season tickets are now on sale by calling an IceMen Account Executive at (812) 421-GOAL (4625), Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
