Uncasville, CT - Dijonai Carrington and Elitzur Tel Aviv kicked off last week's international play with a game against eighth-ranked Israeli League rival, Elitzur Holon. Elitzur Tel Aviv lost 97-65. Carrington, however, played well securing a double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Elitzur Tel Aviv is currently tenth place in Israeli League standings.

Jonquel Jones and UMMC Ekaterinburg started the week strong with a road win in EuroLeague play over Group A counterpart, Umana Reyer, 74-67. J. Jones had six points, seven rebounds and one assist. UMMC Ekaterinburg remains undefeated and atop the EuroLeague Group A standings. UMMC Ekaterinburg had a key win in Russian League play to end the week against Dynamo Kursk. UMMC Ekaterinburg won 88-53 to take the top spot in Russian League standings. Jones had 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in the contest.

Jasmine Thomas and CBK Mersin started their EuroCup playoff run with a tough loss on the road to Lointek Gernika, 83-59. Thomas had 12 points, three rebounds and two assists on the night. CBK Mersin will meet Lointek Gernika again for Round 2 of the playoffs. CBK Mersin turned the week around with a decisive win over Turkish League counterpart, Izmit Belediyespor, 87-50. Thomas had 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. CBK Mersin is now fifth place in Turkish League standings.

Natisha Hiedeman and Nadezhda met EuroCup rival MBK Ruzomberok for their first round of the playoffs. The game ended in a tie at 86-86. Hiedeman had 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and a block in the contest. Nadezhda and MBK Ruzomberok will meet again in Round 2. Nadezhda finished their week strong with an 88-61 road win over ninth-ranked Russian League opponent, Dynamo Moscow. Hiedeman had seven points, three rebounds, eight assists, and a block. The win moved Nadezhda up to sixth place.

Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas and ZVVZ USK Praha had a strong start to the week beating EuroLeague Group A rival MBA Moscow, 92-61. A. Thomas had 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in the effort, and B. Jones had 25 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. ZVVZ USK Praha is ranked second in EuroLeague Group A standings. ZVVZ USK Praha finished the week with a blow-out against seventh-ranked Czech League opponent Levhartice Chomutov, beating them 105-68. B. Jones had a massive 31-point showing, accompanied by nine rebounds and a steal. A. Thomas had a stellar performance and a triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, four steals and a block. ZVVZ USK Praha remains undefeated and first in Czech League standings.

Briann January and her Sopron Basket squad had a great win against EuroLeague Group B counterpart VBW Arka Gdynia, 67-40, maintaining their second-place ranking. January had nine points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in the match-up. Sopron Basket finished out a strong week, beating tenth-ranked Hungarian League adversary Vasas Akademia, 77-50. January had four points, three assists and three steals on the night. Sopron Basket remains first in the Hungarian League with a 13-0 record.

Kaila Charles and Dynamo Novosibirsk beat twelfth-ranked Russian League opponent Spartak Noginsk, 88-62. Charles had eight points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in the contest. The victory moved Dynamo Novosibirsk up to fifth in Russian League standings.

Beatrice Mompremier and her Uni Gyor squad crushed twelfth-ranked Hungarian League adversary, PINNK-Pesci, 111-71. Mompremier had 18 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and a block in the effort. Uni Gyor is fourth in the Hungarian League with an 8-4 record.

Stephanie Jones and her seventh-ranked Gorzow team had a great win over third-ranked Polish League opponent, Wroclaw, 77-68. S. Jones had 25 points, six rebounds, two assists and a block in the effort.

Connecticut Sun players hit the court again this week, starting today with J. Jones and UMMC Ekaterinburg playing Basket Lattes in the EuroLeague, and Carrington and Elitzur Tel Aviv playing Israeli League opponent, Maccabi Urban. B. Jones, A. Thomas and ZVVZ USK Praha play EuroLeague counterpart KSC Szekszard on the road at 12 P.M. EST, and January and Sopron Basket play EuroLeague rival Beretta Famila Schio at 1:30 P.M. EST on December 21. On December 22, Hiedeman and Nadezhda will play MBK Ruzomberok at 9:00 A.M. EST in Round 2 of the EuroCup playoffs. After a four-day break from games for the Christmas holiday, J. Thomas, S. Jones and Carrington will finish the week with games on December 26.
