Last week's overseas play saw a slew of EuroLeague and EuroCup games for Connecticut Sun players.
In the first game of the week, Jonquel Jones and UMMC Ekaterinburg defeated Szekszard on the road 82-67. J. Jones recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. UMMC Ekaterinburg is currently first in the EuroLeague's Group A standings.
Brionna Jones and Alyssa Thomas both shined in ZVVZ USK Praha's home matchup with Perfumerias Avenida, winning 80-55 against the Spanish team. B. Jones amassed 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals; while Thomas recorded 8 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals. ZVVZ USK Praha is currently fourth in EuroLeague Group A standings.
Guard Natisha Hiedeman posted 14 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and two steals in BC Nadezhda's 83-72 home victory over KKZ Crvena Zvezda. BC Nadezhda is first in EuroCup Group E standings with a 4-0 record.
Jasmine Thomas saw the hardwood this week, as well, netting 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in a win over Turkish Women's Basketball Super League (KBSL) opponent Besiktas. Her team, Fenerbahce Safiport, is first in the KBSL standings with a 4-0 record.
Stephanie Jones, and her team Gorzow, saw action twice last week. S. Jones and Gorzow started the week with a home loss in a EuroCup game against AZS UMCS Lublin. S. Jones tallied 15 points, eight rebounds, and one assist. In her second game, S. Jones and Gorzow fell short to Energa Basket Liga (Poland) opponent Torun 93-88 in double overtime. S. Jones listed three points and five rebounds in 12:15 minutes of game play.
Connecticut Sun players will be back in action on November 17, 2021, as Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas and their team ZVVZ USK Praha take on Czech Women's Basketball League opponent, KP BRNO. Jonquel Jones, Natisha Hiedeman, and Kaila Charles will resume play on November 18, 2021. Stephanie Jones, Jasmine Thomas, and Beatrice Mompremier all have games on November 20, 2021. And the week's games with be capped off on November 21, 2021, with games from Natisha Hiedeman, Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas, and a matchup between Jonquel Jones' UMMC Ekaterinburg and Kaila Charles' Dinamo-Guvd Novosibirsk in the Russian Women's Basketball League at 7:00am EST.
