Outlaws Snap Losing Streak with 10-2 Win Over Silver Sox

CHICO, CA - The Chico Outlaws combined 12 hits and a club-record eight stolen bases with a solid pitching effort by Eric Sheridan to beat Reno 10-2 Tuesday night at Nettleton Stadium...the Outlaws evening their series with the Silver Sox and one win apiece and putting an end to their five game losing streak.

It took Reno just three batters to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning as Gary Harris led off the game with a double, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on Ryan Brown's bouncer to short. The Outlaws tied the contest in the bottom of the 1st when Steve Boggs scored from third on a Steve Russell wild pitch. In the 4th Chico grabbed the lead - Bryan Silverman's sacrifice fly plated Tony Torcato; Eric Pringle followed with a bloop single to center to chase home Lino Garcia...Pringle would eventually score on a wild pitch to put the Outlaws up 4-1.

While Sheridan and reliever Ben Shockey kept the Silver Sox offense in check, Chico blew the game open with six unanswered runs against Reno reliever Reggie Leslie - in the 7th Pringle walked, went to third on a hit-and-run single by Boggs and scored on a Casey Garrison groundout...Boggs came home on a Jose Valdez single to center...after Julian Benavidez singled, Torcato hit a sharp grounder to short that was booted by Andre Alvarado, allowing Valdez to score...Lino Garcia then doubled home Benavidez to make the score 8-1. In the 8th Pringle singled and Boggs doubled to lead off the inning...Jesse Kovacs knocked in Pringle with a groundout and Boggs came home on a Garrison single to left to make it 10-1. Reno scored a run in the top of the 9th off Shockey, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep the Silver Sox from losing for the 11th time in their last 14 games.

Sheridan (2-1 with the Outlaws, 3-3 overall) struck out six in six innings of work to earn his second straight win; Shockey worked the final three frames to post the first save of his pro career...Russell (5-8) struck out eight in six innings but was saddled with the loss. Pringle finished the night 3-for-3 with three runs scored, three stolen bases and an RBI...Boggs added three hits for Chico, while Garcia added a double and a single to the Outlaws offensive mix. Juan Senreiso had two of the three Silver Sox hits. Tuesday's win improved Chico's second half record to 8-13 and overall mark to 23-40, while Reno fell to 6-13 in the second half and 24-39 on the year.
