Denver Outlaws News Release

DENVER - On Tuesday, June 23, Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced the rosters for the eighth annual MLL All-Star Game, which takes place at Denver's INVESCO Field at Mile High on Thursday, July 16th at 8:00 p.m. MT.

Denver attackman Brendan Mundorf (UMBC), who currently leads the League in scoring with 24 points, along with midfielders Brian Langtry (Hofstra) and Kyle Harrison (Johns Hopkins), and defenseman Lee Zink (Maryland) will represent the Outlaws on the "Old School" team, while attackman Drew Westervelt (UMBC), rookie midfielder Max Seibald (Cornell), defenseman Matt Bocklett (Johns Hopkins), and two-time Defensive Player of the Week, goalie Jesse Schwartzman (Johns Hopkins) will suit up for the "Young Guns". Denver Head Coach Brian Reese and his assistant coaches Trevor Tierney and Bill Edell will coach the "Old School" team.

While the League has implemented an "East" vs. "West" format for the past two seasons, this year's game will return to the popular "Old School" vs. "Young Guns" format which was featured in the 2005 All-Star Game, which also took place in Denver. The "Young Guns" squad is comprised of players from the 2007-2009 classes, while the "Old School" squad will be made up by those players from the classes prior to and including 2006.

In addition to the game, there are several fun activities and events planned in and around the Denver area in the days leading up to the Game. On Wednesday July 15th, MLL players, coaches, and staff will be at Skyline Park along the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. MT to teach fans about the game of lacrosse, participate in shooting games and much more. Later in the day, join your favorite MLL All-Stars for a Long Drive Competition at Green Valley Ranch Country Club. A Media Event is also planned for the evening.

The All-Star Game Fan Fair will begin on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. MT on Sports Legends Mall outside INVESCO Field followed by a tree planting ceremony with MLL Founder Jake Steinfeld, Esurance, The Park People, members of the Denver Outlaws and their staff, several youth lacrosse teams and select MLL All-Stars. Further details for these events will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2009 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich calling the action. Halftime will include the Bud Light Skills Competition. Participants for the Skills Competition events will be announced at a later date.
