SAN DIEGO, CA - The first quarter started slow, until the 10th minute, when Sebastian Mendez scored for the Outlaws. Leonardo De Oliveira tied it up for the Sockers, ending the first quarter at 1-1. Cesar Cerda scored for the Sockers in the fourth minute of the second quarter. The Outlaws killed the powerplay after a blue card was issued in the 11th minute for too many men. The half ended 1-2 Sockers.
Sockers scored a powerplay goal in the fifth minute from Tavoy Morgan, after a blue card was issued to J.J. Oteze from the Outlaws for tripping. Another Sockers goal was scored, the fourth unanswered goal, by Charlie Gonzales. The third quarter ending with the Outlaws down 1-4. Mendez started off the fourth quarter with his second goal of the night for the Outlaws, in the second minute of the quarter. Brian Farber scored in the fifth minute for the Sockers, starting the downfall of the Outlaws game. A sixth goal was scored for the Sockers by Luis Ortega with a little over 4 minutes left in the game. The final dagger for the Outlaws came when Kraig Chiles scored the seventh and final goal of the game during a power play, after Axel Chakounte was issued a blue card for pushing in the 14th minute. Outlaws losing 2-7.
The Outlaws were missing many key players, such as Pablo Da Silva, Luiz Morales, and Jorge De Leon, in the game due to injuries and other commitments. They look to bounce back at home in the Mesquite Arena next week as they have a double header.
Sebastian Mendez scored the only two goals for the Outlaws, being the top scorer of the night for Mesquite. The Outlaws are now 8-2-2, and Sockers go to 10-0-0.
The next games for the Outlaws are on Friday, February 10th, and Saturday, February 11th against Chihuahua Savage at Mesquite Arena in Mesquite, Texas. Kickoff for both games are 7:05 pm CST.
