Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- The most successful regular season in Rockford IceHogs history came to a close on Sunday afternoon, as the Hogs dropped a 1-0 finale to the Missouri River Otters in front of 3,418 at the Rockford MetroCentre. The teams combined for only 46 shots on goal in the contest that was a lame duck affair for Rockford.

The only goal of the afternoon was scored by rookie defenseman T.J. Kemp. Kemp shot one at Rockford goalie Michel Robinson from the blue-line, and Robinson tried to trap the puck with his glove. The puck averted Robinson and slipped in at 15:39.

The Hogs had several scoring opportunities, but Missouri goalie Kevin Reiter turned away all 25 IceHogs shots to pick up the win. Missouri finished the campaign with two-straight road wins. Robinson was the tough luck loser, stopping 20 Missouri shots.

Next Home Game: Tuesday, April 19 vs. Kalamazoo. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Playoff hockey return to Rockford as the IceHogs and Wings hook up for Game Three of the first round of the Colonial Cup Playoffs. For tickets call (815) 968-5222.
