
Otters suffer another OT setback

GUELPH, Ontario â Daniel Paille scored his second goal of the game just seven seconds into overtime to lift the Guelph Storm to a 4-3 win over the ERIE OTTERS in an Ontario Hockey league game played this afternoon in front of 4,391 at the Guelph Sports and Entertainment Centre.
Ryan Callahan netted the other two goals for the Storm, including the equalizer on the power play with 8.8 seconds remaining in regulation.
Rob Hisey paced the OTTERS with a pair of goals bringing his season-total to a career-high 29. The goals also extended Hisey's point-scoring streak to 15 games (10-19-29). Josh Patterson netted the other goal for the OTTERS, who lost in overtime for the fourth time in their last five games.
The OTTERS led 2-1 after the first and second periods. Paille tied the game at two five minutes into the third before Patterson restored the OTTERS one-goal cushion with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation. The OTTERS slipped to 23-19-6-5 with the loss.
Guelph posted their 11th straight victory and are now 38-9-5 on the season.
The Storm out shot the OTTERS 40-28 in the game as Josh Disher took the loss.
The three stars of the game were 1. Paille; 2. Callahan and 3. Hisey.
The OTTERS return to action Wednesday night when they travel to Mississauga to take on the IceDogs. The game can be heard live on SportsRadio 1330 the FAN and at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
The next OTTERS home game takes place this Saturday (February 14) when the Kitchener Rangers pay a visit to the Tullio Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start presented by Stefanelli's Candies. Tickets for the game are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office.
