Otters slip past Kingston

Luke Gazdic's second goal of the game midway through the third turned out to be the game winner as the Erie Otters rallied from behind for a 4-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,721 at the Tullio Arena. Sean Jones also scored in the third for the Otters, who erased a 3-2 second-period deficit to post the victory and improve to 29-24-2-1 on the season. Anthony Luciani also scored of the Otters. Bobby Mignardi, Andris Dzerins and George Lovatsis replied for the Frontenacs, now 12-33-6-3. Erie led 2-1 after one. Kingston carried a 3-2 lead into the third. The Frontenacs out shot the Otters 37-26 in the game as Shane Owen posted the victory. The three stars of the game were 1. Gazdic; 2. Otters forward Brandon Biggers (assist) and 3. Mignardi.

The Otters head out on to the road for their next four games beginning with three through the West Division. The trip begins Thursday in Windsor against the Spitfires in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m. Friday the Otters are in Saginaw followed by a Saturday contest in Plymouth. The next Otters home game takes place Saturday, February 28th when the Ottawa 67's visit the Tullio Arena for a 7 p.m. start presented by EMTA. The first 1,000 fans into the game will receive a Ryan O'Reilly lithograph penned by Kevin-John Jobczynski.
