Erie Otters News Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League get back at it tomorrow (Wednesday) night at the Tullio Arena when they host the Guelph Storm in 7:30 p.m. start.

The Otters (3-13-0-2) will be looking to break out of a five-game losing streak and a four-game home skid when they face the Storm in the first of their six-game season series.

The Erie line-up has been decimated by injury with four veteran players out of action.

Veterans Sean O'Connor, Ryan O'Marra, Derrick Bagshaw and Patrick Lee as well as rookie Luke Gazdic are all expected to miss Wednesday's game with various short and long-term ailments. That leaves second-year forward Nick Palmieri as the team's leading scorer with eight goals and eight assists in 18 games. Andrew Hotham and Justin Hodgman are tied for second in team scoring each with 14 points on the season.

The Storm arrives at the Tullio Arena in the midst of a four-game losing streak, which has dropped them to 9-7-1-2 on the season.

Overage forward Tyler Doig has gotten off to a quick start with 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 19 games. Mike McLean is the team's leading goal scorer with 12 in 19 games. The overage forward had only 17 goals in his first 172 OHL games prior to this season.

Tickets for the game are available at the Civic Center Box Office and all Erie-area TicketMaster locations. Fan are reminded that they can redeem their ticket stub from the Otters October 21st game for a free ticket of equal value to Wednesday's game. All redemptions must be made at the Civic Center Box Office.

The game can also be heard live on 1330 Erie's ESPN Radio and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
