
Otters Move More Picks

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced that they have acquired four future OHL Priority Selections in two separate deals made this afternoon. The Otters acquired a fifth round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and a third and fifth round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for the 58th overall pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection being held tomorrow. The pick sent to the Spitfires was the Otters third, third round pick in tomorrow's selection process. In another deal, the Otters acquired a 14th round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection from the Sarnia Sting for a 15th round pick (290th overall) in tomorrow's Priority Selection. The two deals leave the Otters with a total of 16 picks in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. Erie will select 10th overall in the opening round and own seven of the first 90 picks in the Selection, including five of the first 54. Join your favorite members of the 2008-2009 Erie Otters for an Autograph Session and a Town Hall Meeting this Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. Admission is free. All veteran players as well as a number of players chosen by the Otters in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection will be available for autographs from 1-2 p.m. The Town Hall Meeting, including an introduction of the newest members of the Otters and featuring Otters General Manager Sherry Bassin, Head Coach Robbie Ftorek, Head Scout Walt Wingfield, Assistant General Manager, Administration Shawn Waskiewicz, and select veteran members of the Otters will be held from 2- 3 p.m.
