Otterness Joins Roster

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster moves today:

Left-handed pitcher Steven Otterness has been assigned to Dayton from extended spring training.

Pitcher Leonardo Astorga has been sent from Dayton to extended spring training.

Otterness has pitched in one game this season with Sarasota of the Florida State League. He worked two innings and allowed one hit and two runs. This is Otterness' third season of professional baseball. In two previous years, he posted a record of 2-6 with a 4.42 earned run average in 44 relief appearances. Otterness is 24 years old and a native of Lutz, Florida. He played college baseball at Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Astorga appeared in six games with the Dragons (four starts), posting a record of 1-3 with a 15.43 ERA. He allowed 33 runs in 18 and two-thirds innings. Astorga last pitched in the Dragons 18-3 loss on Sunday when he allowed seven runs in three innings of work.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
