
Ottawa Salvages Final Game of Series

Ottawa jumped out to an early 4-0 lead through 1 1/2 innings of play and would go on from there to defeat New Jersey by the final of 9-3.
The Champions had 10 hits in the contest with eight batters picking-up at least one. Ottawa 1B/2B Leonardo Reginatto led the way offensively going 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Champions 3B/LF Malik Collymore had two hits in four at-bats along with a run scored while RF Adron Chambers contributed a base hit and drove in a pair of runs. Collymore also chipped in his 46th stolen base which is five behind the league's all-time record of 51 set by Breland Almadova of Sussex County last season.
Ottawa starting pitcher Jared Mortensen allowed two earned runs over seven innings of work and earned the win. The 31-year-old gave up three walks and seven hits while fanning three batters in a 117-pitch outing. With the victory, Mortensen evened his record at 7-7 on the year.
