Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

MISSOULA, MT - Henry Zabala hit a two-run triple with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Missoula Osprey to a 9-8 come-from-behind win over the Billings Mustangs on Monday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field.

Bobby Borchering, who had two of Missoula's 13 hits on the night, drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the ninth off of Mustangs' pitcher Daniel Corcino (1-4). After Raywily Gomez sacrificed Borchering to second, David Narodowski also drew a walk. Zabala then drilled a liner just inside the right-field line, with both Borchering and Narodowski scoring to win it for the Osprey.

The late rally managed to get Osprey starter Mike Belfiore off the hook. After being close to perfect in his last outing, Belfiore allowed seven runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk in 4 2/3 innings pitched. The bullpen, however, kept the Osprey in the game, allowing just an unearned run on five hits and three walks, with five combined strikeouts.

Adam Worthington (5-4), the last of the four relievers the Osprey used on Monday, pitched the ninth inning and picked up the win.

Missoula (17-17, 38-34) has now won six straight games at home against the Mustangs, including three in walk-off fashion. Ender Inciarte had three hits and three RBIs to pace the Osprey offense, and the win keeps them within 1 ½ games of Great Falls for the North Division second-half lead. The Voyagers needed 11 innings to win at Helena on Monday, 3-1.

The Osprey and Mustangs will play game three of their four-game series on Tuesday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Miguel Pena (2-5, 5.59) will get the start for the Osprey, while Leonardo Astorga (2-7, 4.91) gets the ball for the Mustangs.

Tickets for any remaining Osprey home game this season, including the North Division playoff game on September 12, can be obtained by calling the Osprey at (406) 543-3300, stopping by the Osprey Team Store at 412 W. Alder, or ordering online at www.missoulaosprey.com.
