O'Rourke Among 18 OHL Players Report to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp

November 16, 2020 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Soo Greyhounds News Release

Eighteen OHL players will touch down in Red Deer, Alta. today to report for Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp set to take place from November 16 to December 13 in preparation for the 2021 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Canada sets out to defend its gold medal finish that included 10 OHL players returning home from the Czech Republic as World Junior champions last January. The puck drops at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alta. on December 25 with Canada's first action coming on December 26 against Germany.

The month-long selection camp will take place at the Westerner Park Centrium, home of the WHL's Red Deer Rebels. It begins with several days of practice and off-ice activity before the first Red/White scrimmage on Saturday, November 21. As has been custom the past several years, a team of U SPORTS representatives will take on National Junior Team hopefuls with six matchups included on the camp schedule.

Hockey Canada has laid out an extensive plan in the interest of player and staff safety, putting stringent measures in place with regard to COVID-19 protocols. A complete look at those efforts can be found at HockeyCanada.ca.

ontariohockeyleague.com will provide coverage throughout the Selection Camp.
