
Orlando Pride Transfers Emily van Egmond to Newcastle Jets FC

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando Pride has transferred midfielder Emily van Egmond to Liberty A-League side Newcastle Jets FC, who play in Australia's top flight. With her NWSL contract set to expire on Dec. 31, 2021, the transfer allows van Egmond to join her hometown team immediately, with the Pride retaining the midfielder's NWSL playing rights.
Van Egmond has played in the Australian league since 2009, with multiple stints in Newcastle. The 28-year-old re-signed with the Pride late in the 2021 season, making two appearances. Prior to rejoining the team last year, she totaled 25 appearances over the 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Pride, including two total assists.
TRANSACTION: Orlando Pride transfers midfielder Emily van Egmond to Newcastle Jets FC. The Pride retain van Egmond's NWSL playing rights.
