Orlando Pride Roster Update Ahead of 2021 Challenge Cup Play

ORLANDO, Fla. - Ahead of the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup presented by Secret Deodorant, Orlando Pride has provided an updated roster as the team gets ready for Saturday's match against Racing Louisville FC. In addition, Orlando has signed goalkeeper Gabby English to a National Team Replacement Player contract. English joins the Pride after participating in the team's preseason training over the previous weeks.

The Pride will open up play in the Challenge Cup on April 10, the team's first game of the year, with a 7 p.m. ET kickoff against the NWSL's newest expansion side. The match will stream live on Paramount+. Orlando will then host its next two games, first welcoming Sky Blue FC on April 14 followed by the Washington Spirit on April 21.

A native of Winter Park, Fla., English comes to Orlando after a season with Portugal's Boavista FC. English is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she made 18 starts during her senior campaign. In that year, her only in Starkville, English finished with 62 saves, good for fourth in the SEC. Prior to joining the Bulldogs, English spent three years with San Diego State University, where she left ranked second all-time in career saves (244), fourth in career shutouts (19) and seventh in career goals against average (1.26).
