Orlando Pride News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Pride and midfielder Haley McCutcheon have agreed to a new contract that will keep her in Orlando through the 2026 season, it was announced today. McCutcheon joined the Pride in the middle of the 2022 season after being acquired via trade with the Houston Dash.
"Haley is not only a vital piece for our on-field success; she has also played an integral role in the culture we are building here. She has shown she is a fierce competitor and proven leader since joining the Pride," VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Haley Carter said. "She has had an incredibly positive influence within the locker room and our community. On the pitch, Haley wants to win games and championships with this Club, and we are so excited for her to continue her journey with us in Orlando."
"I am hungry to bring a title to Orlando and am so thankful for the opportunity to do so over the next three seasons," McCutcheon said. "The players, staff, and fans of this organization are world-class, and it is an honor to be a part of it. I am thrilled to be able to represent Orlando for the years to come."
During the 2023 season, McCutcheon appeared in 26 matches, making 24 starts across all competitions. She started in all 22 regular season games donning the captain's armband in four of those matches. She scored her first goal with the Pride during the 2023 season on April 29, in the Pride's 3-1 victory over the San Diego Wave, a match which also served as the Club's first win of the year.
A product of Nebraska University, McCutcheon was originally selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2018 NWSL Draft by the Houston Dash. Over her NWSL career, McCutcheon has appeared in 132 matches, 32 of which have come with the Pride. She has scored two goals in her career, the first one coming while she was with the Dash back in the 2018 season and has recorded three assists.
In 2020, McCutcheon played a key role in helping lead the Dash to their first piece of silverware, as the team became champions of the first-ever NWSL Challenge Cup.
Prior to being drafted, McCutcheon was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree at Nebraska, finishing her four years with 75 appearances, 19 goals and seven assists.
