
Orlando City SC Midfielder Favian Loyola Undergoes Successful Surgery to Remove Blood Clot

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC midfielder Favian Loyola has undergone successful surgery to remove a blood clot in his left arm, the Club announced today. Loyola was treated by the Club's official medical team at Orlando Health and will immediately begin the recovery process.
"The entire Club is thinking of Favian and we are completely focused on supporting his well-being and recovery in any way that we can. We know that Favian has the support of the entire Club and community behind him, and we look forward to welcoming him back to the field when the moment is right," Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi said. "I'd also like to thank our incredible medical staff, both at the Club and at our partners at Orlando Health, who made sure Favian received the best care at a very important time."
Loyola has shared time across the 2023 season with both the Lions' First Team and Orlando City B, totaling one MLS appearance along with 20 starts and seven goals in MLS NEXT Pro.
A timeline for his return is not currently available.
