Norfolk Tides News Release
The Orioles today announced that they will activate OF ADAM JONES from the 15-day disabled list, recall LHP GARRETT OLSON from Triple-A Norfolk and select the contract of RHP JIM MILLER from Norfolk for Monday's game at Boston.
Jones, 23, has been on the disabled list since August 3 with a fractured left foot. Jones suffered the injury August 2 when he fouled a pitch off his foot.
Olson, 24, will be the starting pitcher for the Orioles Monday night in Boston. He was 8-6 with a 6.83 ERA in 21 starts for the Orioles earlier this year. He was optioned to Norfolk August 20.
Miller, 26, will look to make his major league debut after going 3-5 with 10 saves and a 3.09 ERA (67.0IP/23ER) in 49 games for Norfolk. Miller, who will wear number 25, was obtained from the Colorado Rockies on January 12, 2007 in a trade that sent RHP RODRIGO LOPEZ to Colorado.
