
Orioles Purchase Prado's Contract

EL PASO, TX - The El Paso Diablos have sold the contract of RHP Marcel Prado to the Baltimore Orioles organization. Prado will report to minor league spring training with the Orioles in March.
Prado, 25, appeared in 44 games as a reliever for the Diablos in 2012. With a 3.37 ERA, Prado was a huge asset coming out of the bullpen. He recorded 2 wins, 3 loses, 15 saves, 50.2 innings pitched, 43 strike outs, 20 walks, and 48 hits throughout the season. Prado was one of the most recognizable players on the roster, standing at 6'4" and being a valuable player from spring training until the closing of the season. Prado is currently playing winter ball in the Venezuelan Winter League.
The Diablos 2013 season kicks off May 16th against the Amarillo Sox at Cohen Stadium, wraps home games on August 25th with the Sioux City Explorers, and officially ends the season on the road in Gary SouthShore with the RailCats. With returning American Association Manager of the Year, Tim Johnson, at the helm, the Diablos are sure to make the most out of their 100-game schedule. Promotions will include Fireworks Fridays, Quartermania Sundays, $1 Beer Thursdays, Military Nights, character appearances, and FREE Saturdays.
