Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation is now accepting funding requests from registered children's charities starting today through to December 14 for monies generated during the 2012 season.

Funds raised during the 2012 season are available to registered children's charities within Manitoba. All requests must be submitted via the team's website, Goldeyes.com, and include the nature of the organization, the specific amount being requested and what the funds will be used for.

Since its inception in 1995, the foundation has distributed more than $1.6 million to children's charities in Manitoba through a number of sources, including the team's annual golf tournament. Other revenue generators include fan donations, the Fillmore Riley Ks For Kids promotion, TCBY pitch speed booth proceeds, memorabilia auctions, the Manitoba Pork Piggy Bank on the concourse during home games and the sale of 50/50 tickets at all home games.

Information about applying for funding is available at Goldeyes.com by clicking on the Field of Dreams link under the Community tab. Charitable organizations will be notified in writing once all funding decisions have been made.

Season tickets and nine-game mini packs are available for the 2013 season by calling the Goldeyes office at 204-982-2273.
