Orange County SC News Release
IRVINE, Calif. (January 29, 2015) - Orange County Blues FC has named Blane Shepard to the role of Senior Director of Ticket Sales and Business Development. Shepard will head the team's sales department and will also be involved in marketing and sponsorship efforts as well. The new front office member has almost 20 years of experience working in the sports industry.
Shepard joins the Blues after serving as the Senior Director of Business Development for C.D. Chivas USA. With the "rojiblancos," he managed the youth academy's community outreach programs through camps, clinics, and other ticket sales initiatives throughout the youth soccer community.
Before joining Chivas USA, Shepard spent over 15 years working for the LA Galaxy front office in a number of roles. As the Director of Special Projects for the team, he ran strategic business plans to increase brand awareness and community involvement. While serving as the Director of Ticket Sales, he helped the club transition from the Rose Bowl to the Home Depot Center (now called StubHub Center).
An alum of Rio Hondo College, Shepard will be an asset to the organization due to his time running the ticketing and fan development departments at LA Galaxy, setting the highest average attendance in Major League Soccer in 2003, with 21,983 filing into the Home Depot Center. This average was a 15% increase from the previous year, and 5,000 more than the next team, the Colorado Rapids.
Shepard comes with deep ties to Southern California's youth soccer programs. He has formed relationships with organizations like Cal South, Coast Soccer League and the AYSO National Office, working with each entity to create programming for their large membership base.
Shepard, his wife Donna, and his two children, Danae and Seth, reside in Monrovia, Calif.
Season tickets for the 2015 OC Blues FC campaign in USL PRO are on sale now. To purchase tickets or for more information email blane@bluessoccerclub.com .
