The Revolution will kick off their milestone 10th baseball season with a very special pre-game ceremony on Opening Night. For this event on April 28, they're looking for local youth ballplayers and athletes to help by taking the field with current and former Revolution greats.
"We have always, and will always, support local youth baseball, softball, and other youth sports organizations in our community," said Revolution President Eric Menzer. "They are the next generation of athletes, coaches, employees, fans and sponsors who will continue building upon the success we've established thus far. We want to welcome those participants to celebrate with us, and are inviting all youth baseball, softball and other athletes to be a part of the pre-game ceremonies for a once-in-a-decade opportunity to celebrate the game we all love, in our hometown, on Opening Night."
On that night, the players who have been named to the Revolution's All-time team will join the party for a special anniversary commemoration.
Any amateur athlete is welcome to join in on the fun! There will be a number of fun and memorable on field experiences these athletes will be able to participate in. The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and Atlantic League Champions in 2010 and 2011. 2016 will be the Revolution's 10th anniversary season at 5 Brooks Robinson Way. PeoplesBank Park hosts all 70 home games in addition to myriad events through the entire calendar year.
