Ontario learning its capabilities

If nothing else, the Reign learned something about themselves in a 6-5 loss to the Stockton Thunder in Game 2 of their first- round playoff series Saturday.

First, the good. They learned even a four-goal, third- period deficit isn't insurmountable.

Big comebacks were elusive during the regular season, when the Reign's 197 goals ranked last in the ECHL. Only twice did they score four goals in a single period and just once (Jan. 30 at Alaska) did those four come during the third period.

"We now know what we're capable of," forward Bud Holloway said.

"We've just got to dig within ourselves and bring that from the puck-drop in Stockton."
