Hamilton - The Ontario government is providing additional support to help the City of Hamilton solidify a location for a soccer stadium for the Pan Am Games.

The City of Hamilton is receiving $22.5 million in additional funding to renovate Ivor Wynne Stadium. The McGuinty government will make this one-time payment to the City for this purpose.

This investment will help Hamilton gain a facility that will provide youth and adults further opportunities to engage in sports and recreation activities. The renovation of the stadium will benefit the community for generations to come and boost the local economy.

This significant investment is a part of the McGuinty government's five-year Open Ontario plan to create new opportunities for jobs and economic growth.
