One hit was all it took for the Wood Ducks in tonight's ballgame. Daniel Mateo struck again with a 423-foot solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth. Which ultimately won the Woodies the ballgame one run to zero. More notably, Emiliano Teodo and Jose Corniell threw a combined shutout and combined for 11 strikeouts.
The Wood Ducks (32-33) and Carolina Mudcats (34-31) continue their series tomorrow, on Thursday, June 23rd, with the Woodies leading the series (2-0), as the first pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. in Kinston, NC at Grainger Stadium.
