
O'Marra, Blunden recognized in Coaches Poll

Erie Otters forward Ryan O'Marra and Mike Blunden were among the players listed today as the Ontario Hockey League announced their annual Western Conference Coaches Poll Winners.
O'Marra was named Best on Face-Offs while Blunden rated second in the Hardest Worker and Best Shot categories.
OHL scoring leader Rob Schremp of the London Knights was recognized as the top player in three categories, including Most Dangerous in the Goal Area, Best Shot and Hardest Shot.
Mike Angelidis of the Owen Sound Attack, Jordan Foreman of the Knights and Bobby Ryan and Andrej Sekera of the Attack were also named as the top player in multiple categories.

The OHL Coaches Poll provides team coaches with the opportunity to recognize players in several skill categories within their own conference. The top three players in each category from the Eastern and Western Conferences are recognized. Coaches vote for each category within their conference and are not permitted to vote for players on their team. Players receive five points for a first place vote, three points for a second place vote and one point for a third place vote.
The Otters (24-34-4-3) will wrap up their 2005-2006 Ontario Hockey League Regular Season this weekend with three games in three days beginning Friday night in Kitchener against the Rangers. The Otters return home for Fan Appreciation Weekend Saturday and Sunday at the Tullio Arena when they face the London Knights and Guelph Strom respectively.
Friday's game can be heard on SportsRadio 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
Mutual of Omaha sponsors both weekend games home games. The first 1,000 fans into the game Saturday receive a free Otters Rally Towel. Sunday in a special 2 p.m. start more than $20,000 in cash and prizes will be available to be won during the regular season finale. Tickets for the games are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office.
