
Omaha Takes Thaddeus McMahon First Overall

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League have selected defenseman Thaddeus McMahon with the first overall selection in the 2025 Phase I USHL Draft.
McMahon is from the Chicago Mission 15U and a native of Wilmette, IL. McMahon earned 62 points (8 goals + 54 points) in 60 games last year. "I live by a motto of work hard, have fun, and be creative," said McMahon. "It is a huge honor to be a part of the Lancer nation. I can't wait to get started and show who I am."
Omaha Lancers General Manager Marc Fritsche commended McMahon's versatility. "Thaddeus is a highly skilled and mobile defenseman who excels in both his defensive and offensive roles," said Fritsche."
Head Coach Ron Fogarty echoed these sentiments. "Thaddeus is an explosive offensive defenseman," Fogarty said. "He has great speed and instincts. We excited to be a part in his development."
