Omaha Lancers Aquire Griffin Jurecki from the Lincoln Stars

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers have announced the acquisition of Forward, Griffin Jurecki (2003) from the Lincoln Stars in exchange for affiliate Forward, Michael Mesic (2004) and a 2023 Phase II, 7th round draft pick.
Griffin Jurecki, of Grosse Ile, Michigan, completed the 2021-22 season with 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in 54 regular season games played with the Stars. Jurecki will be entering his third full-time season in the United States Hockey League in the 2022-23 season.
The Michigan Native has spent the entirety of his junior hockey career with the Lincoln Stars, which kicked off on February 28th, 2020 in a 6-2 win over the Tri-City Storm. After spending just one more game with the Stars that season, Jurecki was sent back to the Little Caesars 16U AAA squad where he tallied 53 points in 46 games played. The following two seasons, Jurecki represented the blue and white full-time, accumulating 32 total points, in the form of 13 goals and 19 assists in 89 total games played.
Jurecki is committed to play Division I college hockey at the University of Denver following the conclusion of his United States Hockey League career.
Michael Mesic, a Plymouth, Michigan native was an affiliate player for the Lancers, as he was only called up for the final two regular season games of the 2021-22 season, as he picked up an assist in the process. The only prior United States Hockey League experience Mesic had under his belt prior to Omaha was two games played in the 2020-21 season with the United States National Team Development Program.
The Northern Michigan University commit spent 60 games with the North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League in the 2021-22 season, as the forward led the Bulls in games played (60) and total points (49). Mesic was also in second place for assists (31) and third place for goals scored (18).
The Omaha Lances are excited to welcome Griffin Jurecki to their roster and wish Michael Mesic well in his future in hockey.
