Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, NE - Sitting just a half-game out of first place and having earned three wins in-a-row, the Omaha Beef professional indoor football team will complete a two-game road trip this Saturday evening as they travel to Bloomington, Illinois to battle the Bloomington Extreme at 7 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The BEEF, whose record of 4-2 is narrowly behind the Billings Outlaws' 4-1 mark, defeated the Wichita Wild 31-24 on April 10th at the Kansas Coliseum. In the game, the team tied a UIF record with six interceptions. Offensively, James McNear threw for three touchdown passes to lead the way. The Extreme earned their second straight win having defeated RiverCity 41-38 on Saturday, April 12, at the Family Arena.

Offense/Special Teams Coordinator Tommie Williams said the team looks forward to the road challenge and has improved greatly since defeating Bloomington 52-45 in week 2.

"We are going into a hostile environment," Williams said. "We have to execute our game plan as if we were playing at home. I feel we are much more prepared this time around than the second game. Defensively, we're 100 percent better and offensively, we are continuing to play the perfect game."

The BEEF will next be in action at home on April 26th when the Colorado Ice come to town for "Kids Night." The first 1,000 kids at the game will receive a set of 2008 BEEF trading cards. The following weekend, May 3rd, the Wichita Wild make their first trip to the Omaha Civic Auditorium on "Ladies Night."

The Omaha Beef opened their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America.
